What are the 3 "Green" Things?

What are the 3 Green Things? I wanted to start my first post here with a short introduction to myself and the mission I have undertaken.  As with most things that we find inspire us to a high degree, they take us over with an indescribable passion and seem to take on a life or spirit of their own.  Such was the case with me and my new found desire to "Go Green"!

As a 50 year old father and businessman from who is blessed with good health, is very active,  and also a little bit eccentric, I started an eco-friendly construction company called Philosopher's Stone Eco-Engineering with the idea of turning  homes, restaurants, and hotels into more eco-friendly establishments.  (I can get into the many different reasons why I decided to do this in future blogs.)

It occurred to me that it would be great to start a movement, play on my new passion to compost and recycle, eat better food, and show the world what I learn along the way. I packed my bags and went to live and work on a sustainable farm. As with all great movements, they start with a theme and slogan. One that is simple, direct and easy to understand, hence "3 Green Things".

The 3 things are:

1. Water use and supply
2. Energy use and supply and
3. Sustainability (covering food and other sustainable/organic products likebuilding products, soaps and cleaners).

Hopefully we will all learn and teach others what we learn along the way. Small changes in everyday activities can make huge differences for us and the future generations. Start by making subtle adjustments in the way you use water, energy and consume. Watch what you eat and what you throw away more carefully. It's easier than you think to be Green, and it tastes better too!
